    All students arrive at 8:25 am with instruction starting at 8:30 am

    Grades 1-9 instruction:
    8:30 am to 11:32 am
    12:20 pm - 3:21 pm

    Lunch 
    Grades 1-9: 11:32 am - 12:16 pm
    Grades 1-3 go outside first then eat from 11:52 am - 12:16 pm
    Grades 4-6 eat from 11:32 am - 11:52 am then go outside

    Dismissal is  3:21 pm

    • Early Thursday dismissal for Grades 1-9 is 2:14 pm 

    Kindergarten Hours: 

    Morning Entry bell:  8:25 am 
    Instruction 8:30 am to 11:21 am 

    Afternoon Entry bell: 12:08 pm
    Instruction 12:13 pm to 3:21 pm

    Early Thursdays:
    Early Thursday entry for afternoon kindergarten is 12:16 pm
    Early Thursday dismissal for kindergarten is 2:14 pm

  • Yellow Bus service

    Yellow Bus service

    Yellow Bus service is available at Johnny Bright School. If you are interested in having your child take the bus, please visit the Student Transportation website links below to find out more and apply for service. *Please note, junior high students are encouraged to use ETS bus service to save space on the yellow bus for our younger riders. Yellow Bus passes will be available through the office for a fee of $30 per month which will be payable on the first of each month online via SchoolZone.

Principal's Message

I am truly excited and honoured to be the Principal at Johnny Bright School. I look forward to serving and collaborating with such a dedicated community of students, parents, and staff.

At Johnny Bright School, we are committed to creating an inclusive environment where every student feels a genuine sense of belonging and is empowered to achieve their fullest potential. Our mission is to ensure that every child has access to a high-quality education and is supported in their personal and academic growth. We strive for excellence in academics and fostering a nurturing environment where students thrive in athletics, creativity, and community involvement.

Central to our success is the strong partnership between home and school. We believe that open and ongoing communication is vital. We welcome and encourage your questions, feedback, and active participation as we work together to support our students' success.

As your new Principal, I am eager to build upon the strong foundation established by my predecessors and to work collaboratively with each of you. Together, we will uphold high standards for academic achievement and personal conduct and cultivate an environment where every student can excel and grow.

STUDENT REGISTRATION

For the 2024-2025 school year, Johnny Bright School is full in planned classes from K - Grade 9. We will only accept resident students in K - Grade 9 who have newly moved into the school's attendance area. 

NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION

If your child is new to Edmonton Public Schools, you can register for school online. Visit the Division website to learn how to register for school.

Johnny Bright School will be a Level 2 Closed Boundary school for the 2025-26 school year. This means we can only accept resident students who live in the school's attendance area. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enroll in another Division school with space in planned classes.

CURRENT DIVISION STUDENTS PRE-ENROL

You will need to pre-enrol on SchoolZone to tell us the school you’d like your child to attend next year. Find important dates and deadlines and learn more about pre-enrolment, which opens at 8 a.m. on February 3.
